Mary Anne,

So sorry for your loss. I will always remember Harvey as a close friend, as an excellent and dedicated teacher, and as a very caring individual. He was always there for me at Penn, and he was always there for his students. I will miss him deeply, and I will keep you in my prayers.

Sincerely yours,

Sorry to hear of Mr. Hurst’s passing. I had him for Government and Econ when I was a senior at Penn back in 68. I thought he was an engaging and fair teacher.
I last saw him at some of the “fun runs” when I lived in South Bend in the late 1970’s.

Rest In Peace, Your race has been run.

Mary Anne,

I am so sorry to hear of Harvey’s passing. The two of you were so kind when I moved to South Bend and was alone. Please know my thoughts are with you and your family as you work through this loss.

Dear Wendy and Hurst Family,
There is no easy way to grasp the passing of a father. That is why we do it together. Little at a time. With the support of the community around us. Wendy, I recall you talking about the struggles your dad was dealing with a few years ago as we did the SOLO hikes. Same things my mom is dealing with. Please count on my prayers for you. My dad passed in January 2018. I know how much it means to have all these notes of sympathy and connection. Peace to you, sincerely.
