I wish I had known Larry for years and years instead of a few months.  I doubt anyone ever walked away from this man without a gift.  The Lord blessed him richly and he freely gave those gifts away just as the Lord intended.   As the song goes, "Will I sing for you Jesus or to my knees will I fall?"  I'm sure Larry did both.

I just received the call from Helen Joyce Ferrell informing me of the passing of Larry.  Even though we didn't get to see Larry, Bonnie and their children often, Larry was always kind to all of us kids (Larry, Jack, Jerry, and Donna Bates).  We marveled at his God given singing talent and my mom (Jean Bates) played is songs over and over on her tape player in the kitchen for years and right up until she passed.  He always came across as someone whose witness was carried out in his every day encounters with people.  He will be greatly missed by his family and his community.

May the Lord bless the Whiteford family  at the passing of God's servant Pastor Whiteford. He not only changed our family's life but also the path of so many others. Fulkerson Park Baptist Church and Clear Lake Youth Ranch will always be a huge part of our family and the lifetime friendships that we gained from being a part of Pastor Whiteford's church and the teaching of God's word.
