 Bertha Zeinis

September 1, 1927 – June 14, 2011

Bertha Zeinis, 83, of South Bend died at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 in Hospice House following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Zeinis was born September 1, 1927 in Chicago, IL to the late Anna and Andrew Morfettas and had lived in South Bend since 1955. On June 4, 1961 in South Bend she married James Zeinis who survives. Also surviving are a sister, Anna Moskolis of South Bend; a niece, Kathy St. John of Granger, IN; three nephews, Sam Moskolis of South Bend, James Moskolis (Susan) of Granger, and John Poulos (Jean) of Jensen Beach, FL; a great-niece, Alysia Moskolis; and three nephews, Nicholas, Gabriel, and Nathaniel Moskolis. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Kay Morfettas; and a great-niece, Amelia Jean Moskolis. Mrs. Zeinis retired from the Bendix Corp. as a special accountant. She was a longtime faithful and active member of St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church and belonged to the Good Samaritan Club of the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 17th in the St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 Ironwood Rd. with Rev. George Konstantopoulos officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 16th in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd. where a Trisigion Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. The family will also greet friends in the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions in Bertha’s name may be made to St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 Ironwood Rd., South Bend, IN, 46635. Bertha and her family were all VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE in our lives. Their love was always unconditional. May God give her rest and peace with him and that he be with you Jim and your loved ones during this time.
