Dear Erika, I am so sorry to hear of the death of your mother and want to add my condolences. But at the same time, I am flooded with many good memories of you (and Chris). I remember how I could always count on you for the valid interpretation and character names for Dead Poet's Society. (We still teach that movie). I also remember that you were much opposed to teaching Huck Finn in our school and I wonder how you feel about that now....
You strong character and your beautiful spirit as a young woman are your mother's legacy. I know she is proud of all you are and I am happy to have known you. Robin Benevih

I had the pleasure of meeting Sister Joyce when my twins Ashley & Whitney were 1st born. Marlene Jenkins (Ms. J) told me " don't worry Joyce girl, because Joyce is the Queen of Twins and she will answear all your questions" ! She gave me everything I needed from strollers to baby beds ! Then one day the boy twin was gettting too fat and I called Joyce and asked her what to do and she said " Girl Stop Him Now , Because if You Don't He'll Eat You Out of House and Home" !
The last time I seen Sister Joyce was in Walmart, our favorite store. She told me she was tired but by the GRACE of GOD she was going to get out the store because everyone she met on that day was making her want to cut a step and I told her " GET YOUR PRAISE ON ".
I will miss her but I know that she will will suffer NO MORE because she has gone to a better place that if we hold on to the end we can see her again !

I extend my sympathy and prayers to all in the family. I knew Joyce only through her son Terry Austin and a few of her granddaughters. They say a mother not only gives her children life but she gives them a world. Joyce mothered in both of those ways and passed on her good genes and her gifts to her children. Be assured of my prayers in your time of grieving. Our faith assures us that Joyce is with God.

I met Joyce at the YWCA when she worked there years ago. I was there as a volunteer. What a wonderful and beautiful person she was. I will always cherish the laughs we shared and will always remember the joy she had when Chris and Erika came into the family. No doubt she is chatting with Chris in heaven right now. God bless her and the loved ones that she leaves to mourn her.
