 John M. Parker

August 18, 1943 – February 9, 2011

 

 

John Michael Parker, 67, of South Bend peacefully passed away this week.  John was born August 18, 1943 in Davenport, IA to the late Hazel (Enstrom) and Russell Parker.  He is survived by seven sons, Jasyson (Kendra) Parker of Indianapolis, IN, Michael (Meredy) Parker of Chicago, IL, Bradley (Jeana) of Burdett, KS, Alex (Kristi) Parker of South Bend, Jonathan Parker of Basra, Iraq, Gregory (Megan) Parker of South Bend, and Andrew “Dewey” (Jessica Lamoreax) Parker of Lakewood, CO; his ex-wife, Christine Parker of Phoenix, AZ; 15 grandchildren; his brother, Jeff (Hortencia) Parker of Woodbridge, VA; a nephew; two nieces; and his cousin, Kathy (Lonnie) Leininger of Loveland, CO.  John was a graduate of Moline, IL High School and Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL.  He enlisted in the Navy and served four years in the Viet Nam War.  He was employed by United Airlines for 30 years retiring in 1997.  Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13th in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd.  Cremation will take place at Welsheimer Crematory with burial to follow at a later date at Rosewood Cemetery, Moline.  The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
