I knew Shirley for many, many years as our receptionist at South Bend Heritage Foundation. She was uncanny in her ability to recognize voices over the phone and to remember phone numbers. I used her as my phone book when feeling lazy! She was generous in her gift giving to others - I still have a "cats, book" sweatshirt she gave me. Although it is worn and threadbare, it is a wonderful memory of Shirley. And, the LSU sno-globe she gave me is still cherished.
Shirley had her quirks, who among us doesn't? But I shall always remember her for her kindness and generosity to others.
To her remaining family and friends, please accept my deepest sympathies.
