Though our time together was not nearly long enough, you were a true blessing. You knew no strangers, everyone was your friend. You didn’t “sweat the small stuff”, but loved life and taught us to do the same. You had a unique gift to be able to make everyone laugh. Your nieces and nephews adored you and have so many amazing memories of Uncle Ed.

You demonstrated strength, courage, and faith in dire circumstances that left your siblings in awe. You are loved and will be greatly missed by all!!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 21st at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg with Rev. Robert Flickinger officiating. To the entire Fredlake family: Eddie was one of a kind. He was the kind of guy that every female wanted to find their “Eddie”, and all the guys, secretly or not, wanted to be like Eddie. He always enjoyed making people laugh, and he did a great job of it! I considered Eddie not just a brother in law, but like another brother. He could tease you, but it was all in good fun... The more he teased, the more he was showing his love. Thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Eddie will forever be your Guardian angel, but don’t think he won’t still keep you laughing. I can hear him now, saying: “Smell ya later!”
God Bless you all. Please know the entire Herman family is here for you for whatever you need.

Dear Laurie and Larry,
I am so sorry that Eddie is no longer on earth with us. I know losing Eddie l has left a hole in all of your lives that will never be filled. I also know that love lives on - in the hearts of all that knew him - and he is never more than a breath away. He was a kind man and I'm really going to miss his hugs, I didn't get near enough of them.
Love and hugs, Nancy Kinnett

We just learned of Eddie’s passing tonight and a sadness has filled the hearts of all of his Wellington Drive friends from Seven Fields, Pa. Eddie only lived here for a short part of his 56 years, but he leaves behind many great friends and dozens of stories that we will recall for years to come. He was truly one of a kind with the biggest heart a person could have. To Ed’s brothers and sisters, you have our deepest sympathy. Please have a “group hug” from all of his friends in Pa. in our absence.

To all of the many members of the Fredlake family, I hope time will continue to bring you the precious memories of Eddie with smiles and joy. I know the challenges of the past few months for Eddie and I am in awe of his steadfast efforts to live his best life. You gather around him and gave him the support he needed. There will always be an empty space in your lives where Eddie once stood. But he will be there in your stories and memories, so he will never be far away. You all are in my thoughts today and in the many days to come.

To the Fredlake family,
Eddy will be missed.
As a youngster, He was always a Reliable friend at Holy Cross Grade school and full of fun.
As an adult, he was responsible, caring and helped with the care of his father.
Now, he can rest, knowing that he will not be forgotten for his many kindnesses.
Our deepest condolences for the loss of Ed
