My sympathy to Carl's family, especially his wife, Jennifer. Carl was the best son in law Ihad (the only one!) and we shall miss him. Godspeed Carl. Love, Mom

Jennifer, my heart is broken! Carl was one of the first people I met when I started Kroger. I have known him for so long! I will truly miss all of the conversations we had over the years. I still remember when he told me he was marrying you. He loved you so much. He always talked about how wonderful you were to put up with him! Hold on to those precious memories. They will help you get through this. I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my prayers. Much love, Paula Bishop-Schaffer.

So sorry to hear the news about Carl. Saw him through the years that I worked at Kroger. I did not know him that well but my friend Sherri had a running gag with him every time he came in and he always had us laughing. One thing I did always hear was that he had a great marriage and how nice his wife was. Hope this brings you a little comfort at this time.

I first met Carl in the late 1980's as we worked together on some Kroger refrigeration controls projects. His passion for his work was always very admirable, and as years went by we had quite a lot of work related collaboration. A lot of time has passed since those days, and I was truly saddened to hear of Carl's passing. It has taken me down memory lane a little, recalling dinner at Bob Evans with Jenifer and Carl once, and their kindness to invite me. As a dog lover myself, I remember how Carl would light up when talking about his Schnauzers. I hope our pets are waiting for us when we move on to our eternal homes. If so, I'm sure Carl has a few beloved Schnauzers with him. My family is praying for you, and please accept our sincere condolences.

I can't put into words how very sorry I am and how sick I feel for you Jennifer. I was so envious of the closeness you and your husband shared. Even my husband is upset for you. You are 100% in our prayers. May God put an angel by your side and peace in your heart. If I can do ANYTHING contact me.

Sorry to hear about Carl. When I was a kid, Carl gave me a book called “Electronics For Everybody.” I became a ham radio operator and went on to become an electrical engineer at Purdue. It all started with that book! With his knowledge of electronics, Carl was a boyhood hero of mine. Sadly, people tend to disconnect as generations pass and I lost touch with Carl. All the positive comments people have made are consistent with my memories of Carl!
