SOUTH BEND, IN – Norma Jean Dale, 90, peacefully entered into eternal life with her family by her side on December 9, 2018. Norma Jean Dale, daughter of the late Edward Trezise and Ruby Robison was born June 4, 1928 in Bicknell, Indiana. She attended public school at Woodrow Wilson School in South Bend, IN. Norma Jean married, the late Bobby V. Dale, in a double wedding alongside her sister Mary Lou Gordon (Trezise) on September 18, 1948.

Norma Jean worked at Bendix as a receptionist. She left Bendix to raise her two daughters and volunteered many years of her time at the former Michiana Osteopathic Hospital. Throughout the years she enjoyed many activities including sewing, baking, traveling, camping with her family and friends, dancing, and crafts. In her retirement years she became a “snowbird” and enjoyed her annual trips to Bonita Springs, Florida every winter. She was an active member of Ardmore Brethren Church, the Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Osteopathic Guild, and enjoyed monthly card club with the ladies.

Norma Jean was proceeded in death by her husband Bobby V. Dale, brother, Theodore “Teddy” Trezise, and sister, Ruby Mae Stoynoff. She is survived by two sisters: Mary Lou Gordon and Carol Swetish, and her long-time companion Kenneth “Kenny” Todd.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Brenda (John) Weissfuss of South Bend, IN and Nancy (Mike) Bottorff of Lakeville, IN. Her grandchildren: Victoria (Anthony) Gresso, Donna Weissfuss, Darlene Weissfuss, Rachel (Derek) Day, Rebecca (Chad) Hartstein, and Eric (Justine) Prikosovich. Her great-grandchildren: Ashley (Bud), Tyler, Kobe, Brandon, Ostin, Jillian, Nicolas, Chloe, Makenzie, and Gage. Her great-great grandchildren: Jett, Jersey, and Jensynn. Also including a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Visitation to honor Norma Jean’s life will be held at Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN on Thursday December 20, 2018 from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Ardmore Brethren Church, 23370 Ardmore Trail, South Bend, IN, 46628, on Friday December 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to service.
