Mary Jane Goodwin, 101 years old, passed away November 16, 2018 at Grand Emerald Place, South Bend, Indiana. Mary Jane was born on March 5, 1917 in Michigan City, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents Harvey and Lucy Krueger, and her sister, Marguerite. On June 11, 1938, she married Earl G. Goodwin, in South Bend, Indiana Together they had 3 children, June Frost (David) of Raleigh, NC, James Goodwin of Wakarusa, Indiana, and Michael Goodwin (Deborah) of Longmont, CO. Also surviving are 5 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great-Grandchildren.

Mary Jane was an avid sports fan who loved her Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Women’s Basketball. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Notre Dame Women’s Basketball program, and especially loved speaking with fans while selling programs and candy bars. A special day to her was when they put her on the stadium screen during an ACC tournament in Greensboro, NC, then all in attendance stood and sang Happy Birthday to her for her 100th birthday.

I saw Mary Jane at many ND Women's Basketball games and loved her joy and passion.

My wife and I are very saddened by MaryJane's passing.We worked alongside her for several years at ND Women's Basketball games. She always had a smile on her face.Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
