Geneta M. Bucher, 91 of South Bend died Thursday May 3, 2018 at Hospice house. Mrs. Bucher was born July 26, 1926 in Albany, KY to the late Goldie (Melton) and Joseph Craft. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Nietch in 2016 and siblings, Virginia Glidewell and James Craft. On March 5, 1948 in South Bend she married Lloyd F. Bucher who died in 1972. She met her future husband at the Mishawaka Hotel where he was the manager. Geneta is survived by a daughter, Wendy Udell of South Bend; grandchildren, David, Laura, Michael (Nicolee), Alexander (Kristyn), Kacie Rudolph (Michael), Jamie French (Evan) and Corey Udell; great-grandchildren, Braden, Bryleigh, Trevor, Aila, Brynleigh, Mchael, Mary, Tobin, and Alexa.
Geneta worked as a sales associate for Target for 17 years before retirement. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved her family most of all and enjoyed listening to the Glenn Miller Band, gardening and quilting. Her pacemaker will be donated to the University of Michigan for their use in large animal health.
A Memorial Celebration of Geneta’s life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St, where friends may visit with the family on Friday one hour prior to the service. She was a very loving mother, mother in law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by myself, David, Laura, Michael, Nicholee, Brayden, Brylie, Trevor, Aila, Tobin and Alexia. She always loved having the family around. May she rest in peace. Love John.
