 Mary L. Tallberg
June 5, 1931 – October 13, 2017

Mary L. Tallberg, 86, of Granger died Friday, October 13, 2017. Mrs. Tallberg was born June 5, 1931 in Muskegon, MI to the late Rita (Hagerty) and Reiner Lingelbach and had lived in the South Bend area since 1992. On November 7, 1952 in Flint, MI as Mary Lingelbach she married Dean H. Tallberg who preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine K. Van Houten of South Bend; her son, John E. Tallberg of Fairbanks, AK; five grandchildren, Brandon, Hunter, and Tanner Van Houten of South Bend and Dean and Sophia Tallberg of Fairbanks ; and her sister, Emily Campbell (Robert) of Grand Rapids, Mi.
Mary spent over fifty years teaching children throughout the community, always striving to help us all grow and learn. Mrs. Tallberg never gave up on any of us and would want us to keep our curiosity unsatisfied.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19th in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2114 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend with Rev. David Ruppert officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 18th from 4 until 6 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd.
