 Corinne C. Olson

Corinne Crescentia Olson (Miley) passed away peacefully with her beloved family at her side on Saturday, September 23, 2017. We will miss our mama who loved and supported us for so many years. Corinne was always there for her children, their spouses, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Corinne’s fulfilling life started on a dairy farm In Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. She enjoyed school, softball and basketball. Corinne had the honor of being the prom queen and graduated from Sheboygan Falls HS in 1946. While working at Volrath in Sheboygan, Corinne met the man of her dreams when he made googly eyes at her from across the room on the fourth of July. She married Arnie Olson in 1955 and they began the family that we are so proud of today. Corinne was a true pioneer as she traveled across the country with her family—The Dakotas, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio and Indiana where they landed.
Arnie preceded her in death in 2004 and she was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Miley (JoAnn). She is survived by her children, Tamara Olson (Tony Scelsi) of South Bend, Sara Olson of Portland, OR, and Tim Olson (Adrienne) of Omaha, NE; seven grandchildren; and one brother, George Miley (Barbara) of Menominee Falls, WI.
Corinne made friends easily and was an avid bridge player. Together with Arnie, they taught many other people to play and enjoy the game of bridge. Throughout her life, she played cards and games at family gatherings where fun and laughter were the order of business. Corinne took pride in raising independent children of the world and enjoyed traveling with all of them. After years of golf widowdom, Corinne finally embraced the sport and got her hole-in-one before Arnie. Corinne was always game for the next adventure, rode a jet-ski at 80 and went to London at 85. She was truly a fantastic woman, mother and friend and will be sorely missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 29th in St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 Ironwood Dr., South Bend with Rev. Terry Coonan officiating. A celebration of life will be held with the family receiving friends at 1:30 and a parish rosary being prayed at 2:30. A dinner will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Corinne’s name may be made to the church or Pet Refuge, 4626 Burnette Dr., South Bend, IN, 46614. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North and Crematory are assisting the family with arrangements. Family and friends may leave email condolences at

I can't seem to find adequate words to express my sadness for your loss. Just know that you are all loved and appreciated and I've had you in my prayers.

I know that the pain and sorrow you feel of such a great loss is hard to bear. But may the happier times of so many years, help calm the grief and pain that you feel, and when you feel the need for comfort from all the pain, just remember those fond memories you shared. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. Isaiah 25: 8a; Revelation 21:3, 4.
