I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy to Pat and Dave's family. I know you've had a very hard road over a number of years, and for that I am deeply sorry. Dave was a wonderful and compassionate human being and I hate that he had to suffer.

Pat, you would have known me as Karen Keller. It has been many years since I visited with you and Dave, but I worked with Dave at Mossbergs in the 80s and he was a very good friend to me. It was from him I learned what an "Event Horizon" was (related to Black Holes) and received the gift of a "Tuit" (once you have a round Tuit, you can get around to it right away - always a great sense of humor!) We also shared a love of movies, and he was one of the last to leave my house the day of my Planet of the Apes festival (all 5 movies watched back-to-back).

I moved away from South Bend in 1999 and lost touch, but I am still connected with Cindy Conway who worked with Dave. She was kind enough to let me know of Dave's passing. I am sorry I did not get to see him at least one more time while he was on this earth. I'm sure he is visiting an Event Horizon right now and enjoying every moment of it! His spirit will always be with us and he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his other hobby interests, Dave was a model train enthusiast. As such, he patronized our shop (New York Cnetral Toys & Trains) regularly and joined us for 'Michiana O Gauge Group' meetings of area modelers on a regular basis. We appreciated his patronage and his fellowship and he will be greatly missed. All the best to family and friends. Len Holt NYCTT
