SOUTH BEND - Thomas E. Emery, 70, of South Bend, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Thomas was born December 26, 1945 in South Bend, to the late Bernard and Faye (Johnston) Emery. On July 26, 1995, in South Bend, Thomas married Kathy Ann (Peterson) who passed away November 22, 2012. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Dawn Marie Krieg, of Mishawaka, three sons; Michael (Ellen) Emery, of South Bend, Daniel Emery, of South Bend, and Matthew Emery, of Wisconsin, six grandchildren; Sabastian Emery, Bridget Emery, Keegan Krieg, Shelby Hayes, Kalena Flora, and Kylee Williams, one great-granddaughter, Laylah Arnold, and one sister, Sue Colley, of South Bend. He was a graduate of Clay High School. Tom served his country in the U.S. Navy, proudly serving on the USS Hancock. Tom retired from Bendix Corporation as a machinist. He was a member of Yana House AA, Niles, Michigan, celebrating 31 years of sobriety. Memorial services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 14th, at Welshemer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will be held at Welsheimer Crematory, with private burial at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, at a later date.
