GRANGER - John Patrick “Jay” O'Banion, 45, of Granger, passed away Thursday, July 7th, at Memorial Hospital. He was born October 14, 1970, in South Bend, to Therese A. (Rice) and John O'Banion, who survive. Also surviving are his sons, Taylor and Connor O'Banion of South Bend; grandson, Sage O'Banion; his fiancèe, Janice Cronin of Granger; sister, Melissa Snyder (Jon) of South Bend; two nieces, Patricia and Erica Snyder of South Bend; one aunt, Starr Valerio; two uncles, Timothy Davis and Shane Thrasher; and his extended family, Paul, Brittany, Bryan, Nicole, Sabrina, Bradley and Saydi.

Jay was a driver for Verge Transportation.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 11th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Cremation will be in the Welsheimer Crematory, as per his wishes.

John blessed us every day with his smile at the Bridgman MI post office when he dropped off packages. We will miss that smiling face. Prayers to his family and friends.
