So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Kathy and I will be traveling (family vacation) this weekend and will not be able to attend funeral services this Saturday.
I got to know Bob quite well by being a member in his first Sunday usher group at FUMC. He would call us on the Friday evening preceding every first Sunday (he never forgot) to remind us of our ushering obligation on Sunday. Our "reward" at the end of a service was a piece of hard candy, which was consumed immediately - and if he forgot, he heard about it (all in fun of course)! The few Sundays that he missed were usually due to farm harvests on the weekend, and I was temporarily "promoted" to head usher of his group for those times he was absent.
He contributed much to the South Bend community as well as FUMC. He will be missed and Kathy and I extend our sincere condolences to the entire family.

Debbie, Cindy, Sally, Mary and all family members,

We are so sorry to learn of your dad's passing. It was interesting to
see that his new career after retirement was being Grandpa. I'm sure
your children have many wonderful memories of days spent with him.

We will be keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers to help you
get through this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Ed and Judy

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was the last of the group of Bendix and Grotto buddies and know they are all welcoming him in heaven to carry on. Glad he will be reunited with Sally, they were an awesome couple. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you celebrate him.
