Olive Lou Renwick, 92, of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at The Milton Home, South Bend. Lou was born December 7, 1923 in Nappanee, Indiana, to the late Marvin and Marie (Anglin) Huff. On April 20, 1956, in Nappanee, Lou married Claude W. Renwick, who passed away March, 11, 2011. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Robinson and Marilyn Schori. Lou is survived by her daughter, Susanne M. (James) Lamb, of Chesterton, IN, three grandchildren, Colleen (Jeff) Laderer, of South Bend, Shannon (Alana) McFarland, of Plymouth, IN, and Mandy Arocha of Chesterton, IN, six great-grandchildren, Meredith, Caroline, Haley, Amanda, Susie, and Lucy. Lou worked in the Ball Band Factory in Mishawaka during the war and shortly after began working as a waitress in a small restaurant where her love of serving people began. She worked in several restaurants over the years ending with the Albert Pick in downtown South Bend. She was very proud of her work and gave it one hundred percent effort believing there is a job for everyone and we should work at it to the best of our ability. Lou was a loyal wife and a caring mother.She championed her grandchildren and was delighted with her great granddaughters. In her later years, she found great comfortcaring for her four cats that had medical problems. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 27th, at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
