James E. “Jim” Jeske, 83, of Granger, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2016 at St. Joseph Regional Hospital. A life-long area resident, he was born on July 25, 1932 to Emil and Elizabeth (Degoruts) Jeske. On May 29, 1954, Jim married Nancy Lee Cuquel, who together raised their three children, Laura Ann Culp, Mark E. Jeske (Tina) & Lynn M. Ogren (Hugh).
After 42 years of marriage, Nancy passed away in 1998. Also preceding him in death were his parents and his oldest sibling, Robert E. Jeske. Besides his three children, Jim is also survived by his spouse of fifteen years, Mary Lou (DeVreese) Jeske, his brother, Charles Jeske and his special sister, Louise Karkiewicz along with his grandchildren, Bryan Culp, Ben Culp, Aimee Culp, Kaylee Jeske, Karlee Renz (Kerry), Kelly Deeth (Kevin), Paul & Molly Ogren and one great grandchild, Zachary Culp. He is also survived by stepchildren Tim DeVreese, Justin DeVreese, and Sister M. Regina, Terri Szilagy (Frank) and their children, Tyler Spurgeon (Linda), Zachary Spurgeon and Kartson Ott.
After graduating from Riley High School, Jim served in the United States Army and was stationed in France. Following his military service, Jim entered the tool and die trade and eventually became a partner with his close friend, Ron Scope, in JMS Tool & Die, a business he was involved in for thirty years.
During his lifetime, Jim was involved with snowmobiling (South Bend Snowmobile Club), RV traveling (Gyspy Rovers), golf (Club 15) and traveling with his spouse and family. His most enjoyable times were the times he spent with extended family gatherings.

To the family of James Jeske I wish you comfort and peace as you have fond memories of your times with him. We were neighbors many years ago and Mark and my son, Bill Ruff were good friends. May God surround you with his love.
