Sally Anne Arnold, 54, of South Bend died at 9:33 p.m. Monday, June 29th in her residence. Sally was born May 19, 1961 in South Bend to the late Pauline (Schenk) and Frank A. Sally was a devoted Christian and mother. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, woodworking, and crocheting, especially hats for premature babies. She also dearly loved her pets, spending time with family and friends, and never shied away from striking conversation with a stranger. Sally devoted a long career to 1st Source Bank, enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing softball and bowling, and watching Notre Dame and Colts football. She left a lasting impression on anyone she met, and always made time to lend a hand. Sally was extremely proud of her two sons and will be exceptionally missed by her family and friends.

It is with great shock and disbelief to hear of Sally's passing. I was a night nurse who took care of Sally when she was in the hospital both times and loved to have her as a patient. She almost always had a smile and her face always seemed to have a brightness about her. Maybe that was why it was hard to see the inner turmoil she was having because she kept it hidden. A few nights when it was wild she leaned over and would whisper some funny comment that to this day gives me a chuckle and lightened the moment. She was proud of her 2 boys. I said Sally was one I could hang with and have a fun time because of her sense of humor. And small world and to bad I didn't know this when she was in the hospital in looking at her maiden name I knew and worked with her mom Pauline years ago. I vaguely remember her saying her husband was Frank and there was a Frank Jr..and a Sally. Sally had a sense of humor and was a lot like her mom. I always looked forward to working with Pauline cause she made it fun. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers as you get through this difficult time.My heart is broken for Sally but she has found peace and is now an angel. In my nursing career there are some patients that touch you and she will be one that I will remember forever. Even after so many years have passed I remember her mother so clearly so it is a compliment to say like mother like daughter. In first meeting Sally something seemed familiar about her and now I know why because of her mom. Know you had a great mom and she will be dearly missed.

Although I did not know Sally all that well, her love for her Children and God will always be what I think of when I think of her. I cannot even begin to express how sorry I am to your family and friends for their loss of you in their daily lives. I will always remember you fondly on the day Jeff married my sister Crystal, as you had a non stop beaming smile across your beautiful face all day long and you could just take one look at you to know how proud you were on that day. May you rest in Heaven amongst the Angels and finally know peace.

We've lost a wonderful person. I worked with Sally until I retired. We would banter back and forth and pick on the customers we knew we could pick on. The customers loved it! I did put on a few pounds, however, due to Sally bringing me 3 Musketeers bars all the time! You couldn't have known a more happy and funny lady. I will miss her and so will a lot of customers. My condolences to her two sons whom she loved very much.

Sally was one of the kindest people I ever knew at 1st Source. I loved seeing her when I visited the Airport or Portage Avenue branches. She always had a smile and friendly word for clients and co-workers alike, she was loved by all. My prayers and sympathy to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
