Libby R. (Jester) Larrison

July 4, 1939 – November 8, 2013

Libby R.(Jester) Larrison, 74, of South Bend passed away Friday morning with her family by her side. She was born July 4, 1939 in Mishawaka to the late Everett and Ruth (Burger) Jester. Also preceding her in death was a brother Richard Jester. On November 20, 1976 in South Bend she married Richard “Dick” Larrison who died January 25, 2012. Libby is survived by her daughter Patty Godsey (Paul) of South Bend and sons Les Prout of Indianapolis, Richard Larrison, Jr (Christy) of Keller, TX., Lynn Prout (Noke) of Osceola, Leif Prout of Gaylord, MI, and Larry Prout of South Bend. 10 grand children and 7 great grand children. Her siblings Betty Niklas (John) of Arcadia, CA, Shirley Nicoson (Dave) of Goshen, and Davis Jester (Barbara) of Goshen. Libby retired from Curtis Products in the Human recourses department. She was a graduate from Adams high school and loved to bake and grow her roses. She was a member of River Park United Methodist Church and the Clay Township Civic & Democratic Club. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was always excited about Holidays especially Christmas and the 4th of July which of course was her birthday. Her beloved husband “Dick” would make sure she had a fabulous fireworks show every year. Libby and Dick were known for their wonderful tailgates at the Notre Dame games in past years. People always knew where to find them with their Larrison Flag flying high. Libby was known for her homemade chili and pecan cups, and let us not forget her “special” hot chocolate. Recently you would find her watching Notre Dame in her new sweat outfit, including hat. Notre Dame Games will not be the same without her. She will always be remembered for her huge heart and welcoming smile. Special thanks to Angela and Bea Hernandez for without them she would not have been able to fulfill her wish of living out her life at home. Thank you to her grandchildren Mike & Tara (Waidner) Godsey for all of their help, and to all moms’ friends and family that came and spent precious time with her on her last days. Last but not least Michelle Thomas, you are a God sent and she loved you like her own. Thank you for making the time she had left filled with love and laughter. May Dad (Papa) and God keep you in their loving hands until we meet again. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 12, 2013 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North 17033 Cleveland Rd. and burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Libby’s memory may be made to the Center for Hospice or the Arthritis Foundation. Thinking of Patty, Paul and the Godsey crew, with the loss of Libby. You all did a great job caring for her. I have many fond memories of both Libby and Dick from years gone by. God has gained another angel with Libby. May God grant you strength throughout these next several days, and your memories always keep her in your heart.

My thoughts are with you and your family Patty. Lost my Dad and my little brother. I have learned that with time all the pain heals. Have your sadness, but also remember to have happiness for your Mom, because she is in such a great place free of pain and sadness. Nothing but perfect days for her from here on out. If you need anything, let me know.

Dear Les and family, the obituary for your mother made me feel like I knew her.
and I now wish I could have. She obviously knew how to have a good time and how to raise and extend her family in a wide embrace.

My prayers are with you and your Mom at this difficult time, but the Lord is
very happy to have her home at last as He shares his peace with her and with you.

I know it is not easy now, but your memories will help you a lot, and know she is with Dick and in a better place. --- Peg and Kellie McGilvra

I worked with Libby for a long time. I have been the CPA representing Curtis products, Inc. since the Company first began. Libby was a very wonderful employee of the Company. She was wonderful to work with and a joy to be around. You can be proud she was your mother and friend. I am sorry I was unable to personaly attend today's service but please know she is in my thoughts.
Sinscerely, Herman K. Kruggel
