Max proudly served in the U.S. Army, being drafted in 1953 and honorably discharged in 1955.  He was in the Military Police and served most of his tenure in Fayetteville, NC.  He loved playing golf, following N.D. sports and watching NASCAR races.  He was employed by the Tourtelot Company in Chicago as a sales representative for 35 years and currently worked at Epoch Distributors, South Bend, always in electrical engineering sales.  He was always a “salesman’s salesman”.  He was a member of Clay Church and active in the Monday night Journeymen group and the hospitality program at Clay.

I first met Max about 2 years ago when he stopped to check on my dad(Don Urbanski) who also has been battling bladder cancer. Max took the time to check on my dad's progress when he had many of his own problems going on but the effort he made to check on others was unbelievable. What a great person, who despite his own problems always had a smile on his face. Our sympathy goes out to you and yor family. The picture of him says it all. Susan Kazmierzak

Good afternoon,

I have the pleasure of working with Mr. Richard's son, Chris Richard. While I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Max, through my interactions with my friend and coworker, Chris, it is evident how much he was loved and will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Richard Family. Please accept condolensces on behalf of myself and my family.

Sincerely, Rich
