Thomas Dean Lindzy

June 8, 1947 – November 11, 2012

 

Thomas Dean Lindzy, age 65, of Oswego, IL died suddenly on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his residence. He was born June 8, 1947 in South Bend, IN the son of the late Ralph G and Beryl I nee Weinberg Lindzy.

Tom was employed as a building engineer at Long Beach Elementary School and formerly at Fox Chase Elementary Schools in the Oswego School District #308. He had worked as a tile setter for many years in the South Bend, IN area owning his own business and working for Factory Tile.

Tom is survived by his wife Debra K nee Roberts Lindzy, a daughter Anna (Joshua Hill) Lindzy of Wetumpka, AL; three brothers William (Sandra) Lindzy, Jack (Nancy) Lindzy and Richard (Judy) Lindzy all of South Bend, IN; several nieces, nephews and the mother of his daughter, Elizabeth Lindzy, of Tarpon Springs, FL. He was preceded in death by his brothers John and Bob Lindzy.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 1:00 until a time of sharing at 5:00 PM at the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd South Bend, IN 574/272-2244. Cremation was accorded the wish of the family at American Crematory of Oswego, IL.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL, 60674.

Arrangements in Oswego, IL will be announced later.

In visiting with Anna and Debbie last night we were absolutely blown away by the cards and letters from the students and staff at the schools tom had worked at! What a legacy he has left! If the rest of us can impact just a fraction of the lives that Tom did, we will be doing quite well. He certainly was looked up to by many. Tom was instantly likable, and he accepted everybody for who they were. We have truly all lost a good man. God''''s peace to debbie , anna and the rest of the family,

We are thinking of all of you, Tom''s family, on this sad day. We will always remember Tom as not only a good friend and kind to everyone, but a guy who could keep you laughing and laughing! There were some very good times! Thanks for those Tom!
