Melba Lucille Zehendner

July 24, 1918 – October 6, 2012


Melba Lucille Zehendner, 94, formerly of South Bend died Saturday evening in the Haven of Our Lady of Peace Center in Pensacola, FL.  She was Born July 24, 1918 in Monon, IN to the late Clarence Issac and Effie Myrtle (Reams) Brucker. Also preceding her in death are siblings Geneva Patrick, Gertrude Bartkowiak, Ruth Carlson and Howard Brucker.  On June 22, 1935 in South Bend she married Virgil Zehendner who died in 1990.  She is survived by her daughters Sandra Belcher of Myrtle Beach, SC, Annette Orangio (Mark) of Pensacola, FL, and Janet Swartz of Baytown, TX, and son Roland Zehendner (Gloria) of Maryville, TN.  8 grandchildren Peggy Zehendner, Penny Alvarado, Joseph Belcher, Marlene Vance, Stephanie Mitchan, Aaron and Amanda Swartz and Kyle Orangio.  8 great grandchildren Raymond and Ashley Alvarado, Danielle Emery, Nicholas Belcher, John and Seth Vance, Tiffany and Aaron Swartz.  2 great- great grandchildren Ava and Brie Emery.  Melba was a loving Mother, grandmother who will be remembered.  A service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday October 10, 2012 in the Chapel at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services.  Her request was that there be no Floral arrangements and memorial contributions be made to the 1st. Apostolic church 1723 William Blount Dr. Maryville, TN 37801 for their building fund.

The Welsheimer Family Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements.

Aunt Mel was one of my favorite aunts. Allways cheerful and loving. I'm sure she is in a better place.
