Eugene F. Yoder

Eugene F. Yoder, 82, of South Bend passed away Tuesday July 10, 2012 in his home following an extended illness. He was born December 21, 1929 in South Bend to the late Eugene F. Wiess and Lois Wood.  Also preceding him in death was a brother Bob Yoder.  On March 17, 1956 he married Dorothy M. Brothers who died July 25, 1011.  Eugene is survived by three sons David Scott Yoder of South Bend, Steve (Vicki) Yoder of Granger and Eugene Francis (Sue) Yoder of Mishawaka. He has 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren left to cherish his memory.

Eugene has his siblings surviving him Joyce (Douglas) Blake, Elaine Pipke, Tom (Donna) Yoder, Jim Yoder and John (Nancy) wood and an Aunt Nellie Yoder. Eugene attended Jefferson Grade School and furthered his education at Adams High School. Eugene served his country in the United States Army as a Medic in Korea in a M.A.S.H unit.  He retired as a radio Technician from Gates Chevrolet Co, after 25 years’ service.  He was an avid bowler and he was a pin setter in his earlier years at the Bowl moor in South Bend.  Eugene was a very gentle person and loved to tinker and his speed boat.  Eugene was a loving husband and father and his memory will cherished.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday July 16, 2012 in the Willow Creek United Methodist Church 14010 E. Jefferson.
