Betty H. Ritz

September 18, 1924 – February 7, 2012

Betty H. Ritz, 87, of South Bend, passed away in Sanctuary of St. Paul’s, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Betty was born September 18, 1924 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late John G. and Catherine (O’Connor) Hollis. On November 11, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Betty Hollis married Gerald “Jerry” Ritz, who passed away January 23, 1994.  She is survived by her sons, George Ritz and his wife Kelly Rosaire of Galveston, Texas, James Ritz and his wife Angela, of Middletown, PA., grandson, Thomas Ritz and his wife Kristy, of Raleigh, N.C. and two great-grandchildren, Reagan and Carson Ritz. Betty retired from South Bend Community School Corporation, at Pierre Navarre School, working in the school cafeteria. She was a member of St. Paul’s Memorial United Methodist Church for over fifty five years. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. South Bend, with Rev. Tom Thews officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Cremation will take place at Welsheimer Crematory. Private inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery.
