Pete Troost was a wonderful neighbor and friend and he will be missed by many, including the entire Murphy Family; Sheila, Tommy, Neil, Ben, Kristi and Coreen. Bernadean and Tom Murphy who preceded him in death also loved Pete very much and greatly appreciated how he looked after them in their elder years.

As a young man, I used to love watching him feed the racoons that lived in a tree in his yard. He would sit quietly on the grass of his side yard with a treat in his hand while very shy racoons would deliberate on whether or not to trust Pete. But after several minutes, it was clear to the racoons that Pete meant no harm and was truly a friend of Mother Nature, so they would carefully proceed toward Pete and take the treat right out of his hand. This speaks volumes about Pete; his care and concern for all of God's creatures and his kindness towards others and I'll always remember him in this way.

God Bless Pete and the entire Troost Family and we'll keep you all in our prayers during this difficult time.

We love you Pete!

Cornelius Sean "Neil" Murphy and the entire Murphy Family

Sid, Kathy, David, and family,

We share your sadness on this difficult day. Pete meant the world to all the Murphys. He made our parents feel happy and loved, and all of us treasured Pete's friendship. I will never forget how much fun he was and his kindness to other people.

I hope that your knowing how loved Pete always will be is some small comfort. He will live in our hearts always.

Sheila, Tommy, Neil and family
