 Ronald “Ronnie” E. Milliken, 78, of Middlebury, IN, formerly of South Bend, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, in Elkhart General Hospital. Ronnie was born November 9, 1939 in South Bend, to the late David Milliken and Marian (Rockhill). He was also preceded in death by a grandson, David. On February 4, 1960 in South Bend, Ronnie married Lorel (Skiver) who survives, along with a daughter, Loron Morris of Shipshewana, IN, and son, Mark (Denise) Milliken of Elkhart, two grandchildren, Holly and Danielle, and a recently born great-granddaughter, Harmony. Ronnie had proudly served his country with the United States Air Force, from 1961 till 1965. Ronnie was a member of American Legion Post #297 in New Carlisle, IN. He had worked at South Bend Parks Dept. as a manager for Howard Park Ice Skating Rink, Storyland Zoo, and proudly worked as a Golf Pro at Studebaker Golf Course. Ronnie loved golf, fishing, sports, but most importantly he was devoted to his family and friends. He be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Upon Ronnie’s wishes, there will be a private family gathering and private entombment at Riverview Cemetery at a later date. Cremation will take place at Welsheimer Crematory. Contributions in Ronnie’s memory may be made to: American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN, 46545. The Welsheimer Family Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. Our hearts go out to all of you. We have so many good memories of time spent with you guys...were like family instead of neighbors, golfing, Stude, playing cards, listening to stories, bowling, Sluggers, listening to Alabama...could go on & on, just want you all to know we'll always remember Ron & all the treasured moments spent with you guys.

To Ron's family....I'm so sorry for your loss. Ron was such a good man and one of the nicest I had the privilege of working with in all my years of working anywhere. We worked at Howard Park Ice Rink together so long ago. Ron's interactions with the young people there had a positive influence on me for my entire working career which was 45 years in law enforcement. We now all have a very special angel looking out for us from heaven.

Lolo, I'm sorry for you lost. Ron was a great guy. You know mom (Waneta) and Ron are up in heaven laughing and gigging over the old times. They will be watching over you and the kids to make sure you all get though things. Take care of your self and God bless you.
