 James Hoff

February 19, 1948 – April 27, 2012

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him (James 1:12). In sadness we announce the passing of James Hoff, 64, of Osceola. Jim passed away peacefully in his home Friday, April 27th after a 2 ½ struggle with cancer. He will be missed by his wife of 43 years, Penny; daughter, Jamie; favorite son-in-law, Dan; granddaughters, DeDe and Lainey; mother, Nola; sisters, Dee, Lorrie and Jan; brothers, Mick, Wayne, and Paul; and beloved Getta. We share this loss with many and are grateful to each of you for making Jim the man that he was. We ask that you help us celebrate his life this Saturday, May 5th from 4 to 7 p.m. in a family home at 14334 Deer Ct., Mishawaka with a memorial prayer service to follow at 7:00. Thank you for your love and support. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Family and friends may send e-mail condolences at www.welsheimer.com

Jim, I am so sorry I did not hug you the last time I saw you. I had no idea, though I was aware of your plans to go South, how short the time would be and that you would return home with Penny where hospice would eventually take over your care. I have greatly valued our friendship since we first met in 1985. You will always be in my heart. Penny was the lovely addition to the friendship that you and I shared. Thank you for bringing her into my world. God is now your guide, your father, your rock, your teacher and provider of all your needs. I am confident you are in the most beautiful and peaceful of all places. I hope you get to tear apart very fine automobiles or whatever pleases you. I love you and I greatly miss you.
